Toffee

 

Ingredients

 1 to 1 sugar to butter (1 cup sugar + 1 cup butter)

 

  1. Melt butter
  2. Add sugar to the center of the pot. Avoid letting the sugar hit the pot walls.
  3. Heat to 300 at sea level or 296 at our house. Stir constantly. 
  4. Onto buttered sheet pour the mixture.
  5. Top with chocolate, nuts, coconut, etc. if desired
  6. Dry paper towel can remove excess butter from bottom of toffee after it cools.
  7. Consider melting chocolate over it.  mmmmm
